How it works

A simple workflow.

If you've used another private e-prescription system in the UK, the process should be familiar.

1

When a patient presents their Nexus Prescription, you can enter their token.

  • 1. Enter the prescription token.
  • 2. Enter the patient's date of birth.
  • 3. Click the button "Search for prescription".

If the information is valid, you will get access to their electronic prescription.

2

You should now see the requested items alongside the prescription and patient record.

  • 1. Inspect the information and clinically check it.
  • 2. Charge the patient in line with how you normally would.
  • 3. Print the prescription and the fill request (if part of a repeat).
3

Before giving the items to the patient, ensure you complete the following:

  • 1. Click the "Mark as dispensed" button.
  • 2. Select your pharmacy using the search bar.
  • 3. Submit your details for the record.

Once you have completed this, the token cannot be used again to dispense this fill request.

Optional step: Print the dispensing record
